Before You Visit

  1. Contact your bank or finance company (your lender)
     
  2. Your lender will:
    1. instruct you on what steps you need to take to resolve your account with them
    2. provide you with the details of the repossession (who, what, where, when, etc.)

  3. Once you have satisfied your lender they will instruct you to contact either United Auto Recovery (a “sister” company of Recovery Management) or Recovery Management
     
  4. At this point you are now looking to either Redeem your vehicle, Retrieve your personal items, or both

  1. ONLY the Registered Owner on file may retrieve personal property
     
  2. If you wish to have someone other than the Registered Owner to retrieve personal property we must be provided written authorization from your lender to do so – NO EXCEPTIONS
     
  3. All personal property is removed from the vehicle, itemized and bagged
     
  4. You may NOT have access to the vehicle – NO EXCEPTIONS
     
  5. Items are stored for up to 60 days
     
  6. Personal property will be available to you beginning 48 hours AFTER the vehicle was recovered and up to 60 days AFTER the recovery date.
     
  7. After 60 days ALL personal property is destroyed – NO EXCEPTIONS
     
  8. After 60 days ALL personal information is shredded – NO EXCEPTIONS
     
  9. To avoid additional charges please bring in a working key for the repossessed vehicle. This will help with the retrieval of your property in the event of a locked glove box or trunk and eliminate additional costs to you if a key has to be made – YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THE KEY, NO EXCEPTIONS
     
  10. A valid photo identification MUST be presented when picking up your personal property – NO EXCEPTIONS
     
  11. A fee of $75 (US Dollars) MUST be paid for the service. Depending on your lenders instructions Personal Property if any will need to be paid in cash. – NO EXCEPTIONS
     
  12. Only CASH will be accepted – NO EXCEPTIONS, there is no ATM at Recovery Management and we do not know where one is
     
  13. Retrieval of Personal Property is by APPOINTMENT ONLY, no walk-ins will be seen – NO EXCEPTIONS, it does not matter how far you have driven, that you took the day off work, etc. There are no same day appointments.
     
  14. All loose items are removed from the vehicle
     
  15. All food and liquids will not be stored and will be disposed of – NO EXCEPTIONS
     
  16. All WEAPONS, fire arms, explosives, and items like these will NOT be stored and WILL be relinquished to Norwalk Sheriff's Substation: 12335 Civic Center Drive, Norwalk, CA 90650 Tel (562) 863-8711
     
  17. IF YOU COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND ALL OF THESE INSTRUCTIONS, you may make an appointment to retrieve your personal property by calling Recovery Management at (562) 278-8777
     
  18. Please leave a detailed message with FIRST and LAST name, and the YEAR, MAKE, and MODEL of the repossessed vehicle, and your CALL BACK NUMBER
     
  19. All messages are returned in the order they are received – please do not call more than once
     
  20. Recovery Management is located at 12405 Rosecrans Ave., Norwalk, CA 90650
     
  21. Hoursof operation are by appointment only – NO EXCEPTIONS

  1. Once you have satisfied your lender, the lender will generate a Vehicle Redemption Release (VRR)
     
  2. The lender will email or fax the VRR to Recovery Management
     
  3. Recovery Management CAN NOT make an appointment for you to redeem your vehicle until Recovery Management receives the VRR from your lender – NO EXCEPTIONS
     
  4. The cost to you for vehicle storage, property storage, Administration Fees or any combination of these cannot be quoted to you until AFTER the VRR has been received by Recovery Management – please do NOT show up at Recovery Management unless Recovery Management has received the VRR
     
  5. Only CASH will be accepted – NO EXCEPTIONS, there is no ATM at Recovery Management and we do not know where one is
     
  6. You MUST have a VALID driver’s license (not an expired one) to redeem your vehicle
     
  7. Only the registered owner on file may redeem the vehicle – NO EXCEPTIONS, please read this one again
     
  8. You must have a POLICE RELEASE to redeem your vehicle – NO EXCEPTIONS
     
  9. A Police Release or Repossession Receipt must be obtained from your local Police Department in the city where the vehicle was repossessed – Recovery Management does NOT have the telephone numbers for police departments
     
  10. Vehicle redemption is by APPOINTMENT ONLY, no walk-ins will be seen – NO EXCEPTIONS, it does not matter how far you have driven, that you took the day off work, that a friend/relative took the day off to drive you, etc.
     
  11. IF YOU COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND ALL OF THESE INSTRUCTIONS, you may make an appointment to retrieve your vehicle by calling Recovery Management at (562) 278-8777.
